Applicants must either have a permanent address or be attending a school in our section boundaries. You can reference the map above to see the boundaries. Generally, our section is in the following counties:
South San Mateo County
South Alameda County
Santa Clara County
Santa Cruz County
San Benito County

Do I need to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE-SCV scholarships?
No, you do not have to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE-SCV scholarships. We recommend our college applicants join SWE (https://swe.org/membership/) and high school applicants join SWENext (https://swe.org/k-12-outreach/youth-programs/).
What is the criteria for college enrollment?
Students should be enrolled at a university full time and pursuing an accredited engineering program (ABET or CSAB).
Once awarded a scholarship, each recipient will be required to submit a verification of enrollment document from the bursar's office (on the institution’s letterhead) to SWE-SCV containing the following information:
Current engineering and/or computer science program of study
Semester/quarter enrolled
Number of credits you are taking
Current classes you are taking
Once proof is received and accepted, the scholarship will be paid directly to the college/university's bursar's office.
Are need-based scholarships available?
We offer both merit-based and need-based scholarships.
What information should I have prepared before going through the submission process?
As part of the application, we will ask you to provide:
A current transcript
Unofficial report of standardized test scores
Employment history
Activities
Honors and awards
One essay plus an optional needs based information
Two letters of recommendation
Essay addressing provided prompt
Do I have to finish the application in one session?
The JotForm application needs to be completed in one session. Please be sure to have all your files ready.
What is the SWE mailing address for any items that can't be sent digitally?
Please send all files digitally through the JotForm application whose link is found at Scholarship Application.
If you have some difficulty sending these files digitally, you can send a hard copy to SWE Santa Clara Valley's address below, though it's not preferred. All items should be post marked by the deadline. ALSO send an email to swescv.scholarships@gmail.com so we can look for it.
